Meet Bryan Steel, double Olympic medallist and Godfrey Bikewear brand ambassador.
Bryan is a 4-time Olympic Cyclist and was an integral member of the British Cycling team for an honourable 18 years. With the team he competed in 4 Olympic Games, 14 World championships and 3 Commonwealth Games, winning a total of 7 international medals. Throughout his cycling career Bryan has also won a grand total of 35 national medals. At the Millennium Olympic Games in Sydney he proudly brought home a Bronze medal in the Team Pursuit. Then 4 years later at the Olympic Games in Athens he bettered this by bringing home a Silver medal in the same event.
Bryan is working with us to develop our Godfrey Bikewear range, to assist the future champions of the sport. His extensive knowledge of the sport has helped us to develop our cycling kit patterns to ensure our garments increase performance wherever possible. This is through, for example, our use of technical fabrics and fits especially engineered for training or racing. Bryan has also been involved in testing our kit, together with our other sponsored riders, to ensure the kit’s suitability for cyclists of all different abilities, whether on the road or the track.
Having now retired from competitive cycling, Bryan uses his expertise on the sport and the challenges he overcame to give motivational speeches. He has designed a range of programmes to inspire people in sport, business and education, to help reach their true potential. Bryan also offers coaching and runs cycling camps.
