Club Kit Culture: Everything You Need to Know

Is this your first time being a kit officer? Are you looking to gain more club kit for your club? Let me tell you everything you need to know about Club Kit culture.

So, you need some club kit. What do you do?

1. Establish Your Needs

  • Define your product requirements: What exactly do you want from your supplier? Are you looking for All-in-Ones (AIO’s) or high-quality splash jackets?

  • Knowing your club's needs will easily help define who to approach for your kit.

  • Don’t be shy to ask: At Godfrey, we offer a wide range of kit, but people don’t ask enough about it. We’ve done things such as custom socks or dog jackets, so don't hesitate to tell us what you need.

2. Share Your Vision (Hopefully with Godfrey!)

  • Talk to your supplier about your vision. Don't hold back—you'd be surprised at what we can do.

  • Sublimation Dye (Sub dye): The sky's the limit! From funky patterns to bold shapes, we can do it all.

  • Traditional Style: Alternatively, Godfrey has a wide range of classic cuts if you prefer a more traditional style. This applies not just to AIO’s but also to performance tops or hoodies.

3. Gather Your Brand Assets

  • Gather a brand pack. Nothing is more important than a high-quality logo with all your colours, preferably in Pantones.

  • Colour Swatches: Don’t worry if you don’t know your exact colours; we can send sample swatches. These will help you get your true crew colours so you look good on the water.

  • Design Turnaround: Once you have this, our design team can curate your kit behind the scenes. This shouldn't take longer than two weeks, and your designs will be ready to go from there.

4. Choose Your Order Window Type

An order window can be opened with two main options: bulk orders or individual orders.

  • Bulk Orders:

    • You order everything at once, normally done with one payment.

    • Advantage: Quicker turnovers, so you and your boat are ready sooner.

  • Individual Orders:

    • Orders are placed by your members within an order window.

    • Can be shipped directly to members or your kit rep.

    • Advantage: You avoid the chance of over-ordering and having spare kits.

    • Disadvantage: They do take slightly longer.

Next Steps

That’s it! Your orders should now be ready to go; all you have to do is wait for the rest to go through. Make sure to let us know if you fancy any kit for your club ready for regatta season.
